Still Praying

We are still praying over our decision to start the new medication to control Reese's seizures. She continues to seize a few times a day even though we have now tried 5 different medications. We decided to switch her care over to Barrows--a difficult decision, but it became obvious that it is the direction God is currently leading us in for now.
God is teaching us to surrender it all to him each and every day. I thought I knew what that meant, but I truly did not.:) Through true surrender we find the greatest freedom and peace. These are HIS children and he has entrusted us with them here on earth. We are here to love them, take care of them, and lead them to God. We are just babysitting for now! That thought allows me to lift them up to the Lord in total faith that He has the best plan--even though it is incredibly difficult at times.
I love this verse from the Psalms...can't remember the reference!
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone. My hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation. I will not be greatly shaken."

Little "God Kiss" for the day...she held onto her foot and looked at it. It may seem small to you, but I sure do appreciate the little things!

  1. Misty provided me information about your blog today. I read through it with joy, with tears, with hope, with trust and with enormous thankfulness for the D'Ortenzio family. We love you and will pray with you regarding God's work and will in the life of your beautiful baby Reese. And, I can only imagine the incredible things He is teaching Mia, Faith and Olivia as well as their parents and grandparents.

    With great love,
    Gary and Debbie Brown
