A struggle

I am writing this with a knot in my stomach, a lump in my throat, and a conscious effort to meditate on the Word of God.

After a couple weeks of great seizure control, even in the midst of a surgery, Reese started having WAY more seizure episodes. Strangely enough, they started increasing the day before her dedication, got pretty bad on the day, and were horrible yesterday and this morning.

Please pray for her! It is so hard to watch and not be able to do anything.

Of course God gave me some great wisdom through Rick Warren just in time:

"When you think about a problem over and over in your mind, that's called worry. When you think about God's Word over and over in your mind, that's meditation. If you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate! You just need to switch your attention from your problems to Bible verses. The more you meditate on God's Word, the less you will have to worry about."

So this is the verse He has given me to meditate upon today:
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Josh. 1:5).

That promise is repeated in the New Testament: “He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (13:5).

  3. I needed that quote today, too. Our prayers are always with you and I pray God gives us both the strength to lean on him and trust in him when we feel overwhelmed.
