The bird

God works in His creation if we pay attention!  I have to share a story of God getting my attention while I was on the treadmill.:)  At our community center the treadmills face a big plate glass window.  While I was running, I heard a thud and looked up to see a tiny yellow-breasted bird hit the cement after flying right into the window.  He lay on his side, twitching a bit.  Then he fell onto his back and started having a seizure--fully shaking--right in front of me!  I was trying not to look and considered moving treadmills.  I thought, "God, why are you making me watch this?  I don't want to watch this bird have a seizure and die!"  Next thing I knew...he was still, frozen, laying on his back, tiny feet in the air.  "That's it...he's dead.  Just don't look at him.  Look at the TV," I thought.  A few minutes later I accidentally glanced back and he was back on his feet!  He was propped up, gathering his composure and ready to take off again.  I had to run home so I didn't get to see his take off, but later that night I took the whole family back to the spot to see if he was still there...and he was gone!
For a moment I thought God was being so insensitive!  How could he make me--just me--watch this poor bird having a seizure?  But now I believe he was showing me something else--Reese will pop onto her feet someday too.  She too will take off and fly.  Right now she is having seizures, it seems dark and hopeless some days, but if we hang in there and keep our eyes on the Lord, He will accomplish something amazing.  I don't want to forget my little bird!

    Isaiah 40:31 -
" But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
