A good visit with the eye doc

Reese had an eye exam this week. The last two times we've seen this doctor Reese has slept through it and we weren't able to dilate her eyes. This time we did and the news was good! Based on her first two exams with two different docs, were were told that Reese would need glasses because she was nearsighted. Also, we were told that the lacunae ( or scoops) on her retinas would cause vision impairment. But this time, to the doc's surprise, she found that Reese is not nearsighted and does not need glasses. Also, she said the lacunae are smaller than she thought they were and they do not pose a significant problem for her vision! Hooray! We knew God had done some type of healing on her eyes. Back in December we were praying for healing over Reese (at The Little Chapel--read the old blogs from December) and we immediately saw a difference in the way she was looking at us. Before that night she never really made eye contact with us, and after that night she started staring into our eyes and looking from person to person. Praise the Lord for what He is doing in Reese's body!
He reminds me that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He still performs miracles!
Also...Reese has had blocked tear ducts since birth, which make her eyes goopy and crusty. Usually the docs wait 10-12 months to see if it will resolve itself before operating. Reese's have not gotten better, so we have scheduled surgery for October 10th at PCH. It is a minor procedure but they still need to put her under. I'm never happy about that!
