God is INCREDIBLE

Do you ever have those days when you see God in every little thing? He has His fingerprints all over everything and I love being a part of it. I've had one of those weeks where I feel so taken care of by Him. HE is sufficient. He is faithful! HE will take care of us, provide for us, cover every need. So many people are complaining about money, jobs, worries. Where is your faith??? He will provide for us. He is not missing this! Trust HIM!!!

I read this story this morning and it touched me:

"One day in autumn, while on the open prairie, I saw an eagle mortally wounded by a rifle shot. With his eyes still gleaming like small circles of light, he slowly turned his head, giving one last searching and longing look toward the sky. He had often swept those starry spaces with his wonderful wings. The beautiful sky was the home of his heart. It was the eagle's domain. It was there he had displayed his splendid strength a thousand times. In those lofty heights, he had played with the lightning and raced the wind. And now, far below his home, the eagle lay dying. He faced death because--just once--he forgot and flew too low.

My soul is that eagle. This is not its home. It must never lose its skyward look. It must keep faith, I must keep hope, I must keep courage, I must keep Christ. It would be better to crawl immediately from the battlefield than to not be brave. There is no time for my soul to retreat. Keep your skyward look, my soul; keep your skyward look!" --Streams in the Desert

I love the "just once---he forgot and flew too low." How many times have I flown too low, allowing myself to sink into discouragement. Ugh...that is NOT where we need to be, not where God wants us. We need to keep our eyes on heaven, our eyes on Christ. This is not our home if we have hope in Jesus Christ. This life on earth is a blip in light of eternity.

So God also gave me this verse today...Exodus 16:4 "Then the Lord said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in my instruction."
It reminded me of one of my other faves:
15:13 Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

The Israelites were grumbling because things were not going their way. God heard them and rescued them. Not because they deserved it. He knew their needs and he rescued them. He even used it as a test of their obedience. I LOVE these stories because they are so relevant today, thousands of years later. AND they remind me that we serve a God who cares, who is with us, who WILL meet every need. We need only to BE STILL.

Here's a cool story:
We got a puppy back in November. Everyone thought we were crazy, including me. Mario was sure it would be great for Reese and we all thought the girls needed something for THEM after a rough year. So we did it. Everyone knows how fun those first few months are. not. While we were in California for SB we left Gracie at the Pets Hotel where she got training. I met with the trainer and Gracie yesterday for her follow up session. He gushed on and on about how wonderful and smart she is. He knows nothing about our family. He said she will be an amazing family dog if we are consistent....."I could even see her being a therapy dog someday." Was that God or what??? The look on my face must have been confusing for him. I said, "funny you should say that. We have a daughter with special needs." He said Gracie will bond with her and we can train her to do what Reese needs. Wow---God in the details again.

Another one?
I started praying in november that God would give us a piano. I really want the girls to play but knew we would not be able to afford one, so I asked God to take care of it. Mario's mom called and said, "Do you guys want a piano? I have one for you!" Sometimes I just crack up at how He works when I trust Him. He just blows me away.:) So we are getting our piano next week.:)) hooray!

Reese is doing well but still seizing about 3-4 times a day. We are scheduling an appointment with a 3rd surgeon to get another opinion on the surgery. He was booked until July, so we are working the system to get in sooner.

I'll upload some new pics soon. I tell ya--not enough hours in the day!!!
